Delivery drivers are contracted out, however, all contracted delivery drivers for Stor-Mor Portable Buildings maintain an industry-leading, Stor-Mor standard.
Weather permitting, off-lot sales will be delivered within 5 to 10 business days, and delivery times for custom shop builds may vary dependent on lead times. You should receive a phone call 24 to 48 hours prior to delivery, if you don't answer, a message will be left. Please return the call within 24 hours to ensure timely delivery. If no call is returned, your building will be re-scheduled for delivery and may take additional time, as we have many customers waiting and scheduled for delivery. Our drivers are professional delivery men, but they do not prepare the property during installation. Please ensure your property is cleared of all debris, trees, tree limbs, overhead wires, fences, and gates. Gates should be at least 2 feet wider than the building.
If your property isn't properly prepared prior to your scheduled delivery, your delivery may need to be rescheduled and additional delivery charges may be applied.
Our delivery drivers only take about 30 to 90 minutes for the average delivery and installation, however, some special cases may take longer than 90 minutes or require more than one delivery driver and therefore would incur an additional installation charge.
Our trusted drivers are able to collect the remaining balance on full-purchase orders. The most efficient way to pay at delivery is with a personal check.
Delivery drivers are trained and have the equipment needed to level your building. A concrete pad is preferred, packed gravel is a popular choice and blocks are a common choice for our customers, however, all foundation types should be prepared prior to the delivery of the building. Please refer to your local dealer for recommended blocks and anchors for your building to maintain the warranty and meet the wind rating.
At the end of your delivery, your driver will have a basic delivery checklist for you to sign, we call this the happy sheet because it insures the building is delivered and installed to your liking.

How Rent-to-Own Works
Rent-to-Own (RTO) is a simple way to get a storage building without needing a big upfront payment or a loan. Instead of buying the building outright, you rent it month-to-month with the option to own it at any time. Here’s what you need to know:
No Interest, No Credit Check
RTO is not a loan, so there’s no interest rate or credit check. Instead, you make monthly rental payments, and a portion of each payment goes toward the purchase price if you decide to buy the building.
Early Payoff & 90 Days Same as Cash
• You can pay off your building early at any time to save money. The sooner you pay it off, the less you spend overall.
• You also get 90 Days Same as Cash, meaning if you pay the full purchase price within 90 days of delivery, you won’t pay anything extra.
(Note: If paying off within 90 days, mailing a check avoids a 4% processing fee for phone payments.)
How Your Payments Work On Our Stor-Mor Portable Buildings:
If you follow the full RTO contract, you will pay more than the original price over time. The longer the term, the more you pay in total. Here’s how each payment is split between rental fees and the purchase price:
• 24 months: 60% goes toward purchase, 40% is rental
• 36 months: 55% purchase, 45% rental
• 48 months: 50% purchase, 50% rental
• 60 months: 45% purchase, 55% rental
• 72 months: 40% purchase, 60% rental
For example, if you’re on a 48-month plan and have paid for 12 months, only half of what you’ve paid has gone toward buying the building at payoff.
Making Extra Payments
Since RTO isn’t a loan, there’s no “principal” to pay down. Any extra money you add goes into a Customer Reserve Account and can be used to lower your payoff amount. However, once the contract starts, extra payments won’t reduce your monthly payment.
What are my options for making monthly payments?
We offer four ways to make your monthly rental payment: online through the Payment Portal, by phone at 270-247-3199, by mail to PO BOX 409, Mayfield, KY 40290-1027 (include your account number), or directly through Bill Pay from your financial institution. If you don’t have your account number, contact an account manager.
Can I purchase the storage building after entering a Rental Purchase Agreement with Heartland Capital?
You can pay off your purchase at any time without penalties. Heartland Capital applies a discount based on the term of your agreement and the number of payments made. Call 270-247-3199 for your payoff balance.
Can I pay extra each month toward principal?
Rent to Own is a monthly rental agreement, not an installment loan, so there is no principal. Any extra payment goes into a pre-paid rent account, applied to early payoff or, if delinquent, toward your payment.
What if I can no longer pay for my storage building?
Rent to Own payments are month-to-month. You can terminate at any time by calling 270-247-3199, and the unit will be scheduled for pickup.
Do you report to credit agencies?
Since Rent to Own is month-to-month, we don’t report payment information to credit agencies. However, if your account becomes delinquent and no payment arrangements are made, your account may be turned over to a collection agency, which could impact your credit. Why purchase a liability damage waiver?
You’re responsible for your rental contract, even if the building is damaged. The liability damage waiver (LDW) covers the remaining amount owed or repair costs if the building is damaged by events like storms. LDW doesn’t replace the building but ensures you won’t be stuck with remaining payments. It’s like protecting your home or car—essential coverage with no deductible.
